One of the most precious gems of Siam.

Kamphaeng Phet Province, Phra U-Thong,
18-19 century in Thai Buddhist calendar.

Discovered in Wat Borommathat, this votive tablet was found together with a gold plaque stating the history and reasons for its making. According to the history written on the plaque, three high priests and their eight disciples commissioned the making of these votive tablets for the later generations to commemorate and recollect Buddha’s virtues and teachings.

The gold plaque also recorded special incantations and instructions for activating these votive tablets to invoke its mystical protective and wish-granting power. Phra U-Thong is one of the most rare phim (or mold) from Wat Borommathat and only a handful was discovered from the temple. This Phra U-Thong is in excellent condition, and has had been photographed and archived in the new Kamphaeng Phet Votive Tablets Collection.

這尊佛藝品在屈播龍馬他發現,而當時連帶金碑所記載製作用處及製作者之發願。

跟據記載這批佛藝品是由3位祭師連同8位門生一同製作,內容所說這批佛藝品不單純希望後人憶佛,而且製作者希望後人若有緣所得藉此解決生活上種種難題,而當時翻譯者正是泰國最知名聖僧-崇笛拍砵贊多。
