Phra Ruang, 16-19 century in Thai Buddhist calendar.

Phra Ruang is one of the five top metal Yokhunpun (Buddha-imaged) amulets and is prized by many amulet collectors as one of the ultimate amulet collective pieces. The iconography portrays Buddha standing inside a stupa with his right hand gesturing the Abhaya mudra—a gesture of fearlessness, assurance, and safety, which dispels fears and accords divine protection in the Buddhist religion. Most Thais believe the Abhaya mudra signifies “power and protection” (Maha Umlak) which helps the wearer rise to power and authority.

Phra Ruang is also known as the “Bullet Buddha” as the amulet resembles the shape of a bullet, and many believe that Phra Ruang with the Abhaya mudra can dodge bullets and protects the wearers from harm.
